Cindy Stewart
Cindy Stewart, 50, wife of Dr. Keith Stewart, of Rohrerstown, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, Dec. 16, 2004 after a sudden illness at Hershey Medical Center.
Cindy and Dr. Stewart had been married for twenty three years.
Cindy was the daughter of Anne Allaben and James Keithley Farrell. She was born on April 4, 1954 in Wilmington, DE.
As a youth she developed a love of music that was to permeate her life. She swam competitively with her siblings as members of a local aquatic club, and enjoyed summers at the family's beloved New Hampshire summer home, Sunnyrest. Cindy graduated from Kennett High as salutatorian of her class, participating in orchestral ensembles and chorus, and subsequently received a Degree from the Pennsylvania State University, majoring in art and music. She played violin in the University orchestra. After college Cindy began a curriculum in nursing, and received her RN from the St. Joseph School of Nursing. She was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in critical care and emergency areas.
She loved animals, and particularly her cats, Thud, Woj, Ewok, and Orange. Cindy was actively involved as a volunteer at St. Leo the Great School participating in many areas such as spiritual life and directing the student's spring theater the past two years. At St. Leo's Parish she was a member of the adult choir and a long time member of the adult contemporary recording group, Steadfast.
She is survived by her husband, sons, Max, Alex, Zach, and Nathan; her mother, Anne Farrell, brother, James Keithly Farrell and wife Barbara; brother, Charles A. Farrell and wife Amy Forsyth; sister, Althea Farrell and husband, Jon Wool; sister, Susan Farrell and husband Don Black.
Friends will be received at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, on Monday from 9-10:30AM; Mass to follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Cynthia Farrell Stewart Scholarship Foundation for Music and the Arts, Lancaster Catholic High School, 630 Juliette Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601.
